The Magic Face Troubles With Superstar Dwight Howard Still On the Roster

The Magic are in a predicament with their superstar all-star center Dwight Howard on whether to stay or go. Throughout the end of last season and during this summer he has requested a trade away from Orlando and requested the firing of head coach Stan Van Gundy and also GM Otis Smith who both were fired and the Magic hired new GM Rob Hennigan and are still in pursuit of a new head coach, with an expiring contract at the end of the 2012-2013 season it is up to the Magic's new GM Rob Hennigan.
Now the question is on whether to try and keep him and get a coach that Howard respects and can convince him to stay? Or to trade and hope the Magic can get a good deal out of the picture. There are multiple trade talks going on but Howard says he will only want to go to the newly formed Brooklyn Nets; the problem for the Magic with the Nets is the collective bargaining agreemagel vietnam lua dao
ent going against being able to trade Brook Lopez as part of the picture seeing the Magic will need a center.
The Nets will not trade star point-guard Deron Williams as part of the trade and they don't want Joe Johnson and his expensive contract. The question in case of the Nets is whether the Magic want to wait until the January 15th deadline and obtain Brook Lopez and possibly others or to try and make a trade to teams that Howard claims to not want to go to. Another viable option for the Magic is the Houston Rockets, who could offer the young talent of Kevin Martin who has an expiring contract, and possible take some of the other long-term Magic contracts off their hands to open up their roster for rebuilding with possibly young new talent coming into or coming up in the league. The only trade that involves the best single-player trade offered to the Magic is Laker's Bynum who has an expiring contract coming up which could worry Magic officials on whether Bynum would stay if the trade is made and also the fact that Bynum would be able to stay healthy or not as he has had major problems with his knees in the past couple seasons, and the Magic would want a third-team to be possibly involved to try and get rid of some long term contracts.
A team the magic would like to trade with to acquire young Jeff Teague and Al Hordford is the Atlanta Hawks, however Dwight has shown no motivation to want to go back to where he grew up. The reason why Dwight wants to hurry with a trade is because of his contract ending at the end of next season is he is able to get traded now he can be eligible for a 5 -year contract with whatever team he is traded to enticing him to gain more money in signing a 5 year contract then just a 4-year if he is to wait until free agency.
Now the question for the Magic is what to do, to trade him now and risk losing more than just a star center and not gain much talent? Or should the Magic take the risk and try and keep him and put him on the roster for training camp in early October and hope that he will play and not use his recent "back injury and surgery" as an excuse to not be eligible play basketball.
